Created by game development studio WolfFun, Thetan Arena is a blockchain-based multiplayer online arena game available on PC, Android, and iOS devices.
Thetan Arena is also a play-to-earn game, allowing players to earn rewards simply by interacting with the platform.
NFTs used in Thetan Arena give players ownership of game characters and other items, such as skins and weapons. Thetan Arena is also free to play without the NFT aspect, although it does take some work and good skill to profit this way.
Interestingly, this is the only game of its kind where purchased NFT characters have a limited usability life cycle. In other words, there is a limited number of matches in which each NFT item can earn in-game currency.
Once this number is reached, players are no longer rewarded for playing with them and buying new NFT characters.
How to play Thetan Arena
With gameplay focused on player skill and teamwork, Thetan Arena offers several game modes, including:
Death Match: In the Death Match playoffs, players gather in groups of four and battle against other groups. The winning team is the one with the most kills.
Super Star: This fast-paced mode requires you to defend your team, capture super stars ahead of your opponents and collect points.
Tower Destroy: Inspired by traditional MOBA games, Tower Destroy sends you and your team towards the enemy base and takes down their nexus before they do the same to you.
Battle Royale: This mode involves massive battles between 42 players or 21 players, so you can be the last player standing with the help of your partner.
When you first join the ecosystem, you will receive a free hero named Raidon, which starts at Level 1. During the game, heroes can level up, and their attributes will increase.
There are three types of Heroes – Tank, Marksman and Assassin. Heroes also differ in their level of rarity: Common, Epic and Legendary.
Their skins also come in different levels of rarity, including Default, Rare, and Mythical. Players can purchase some of these NFTs in the in-game market or earn them by playing Thetan Arena and then sell them for a profit.
Earn THC and THG tokens
Thetan Arena uses two different tokens, and players can earn THC and THG tokens. The primary in-game currency is Thetan Coin (THC), which users collect by playing game modes and participating in various other activities.
Once players have earned these THC tokens, they can claim them to their wallets. There are three ways players get THC:
- Battle: Get battle bonuses in THC, depending on hero rarity and class trophy.
- Quests: Once players have accumulated enough Quest Points earned to complete quests, they can exchange them for THC.
- Ranking Rewards: Players get THC when ranking up.
THC can be used to purchase NFTs or Thetan Boxes – a Hero character resource for the entire Thetan Arena system. The tokens are also planned to act as rewards for streamers when they release gameplay.
In addition to THC, the game has a secondary token called Thetan Gem (THG). It is a utility and governance token that serves as a medium of exchange between players in a decentralized manner.
The goal is to provide a convenient and secure way of payment and settlement between players. It is not intended to be a medium of exchange for the public benefit.
How to Get THG tokens
THG tokens can be obtained in three ways:
- Special Events: Hosted by Thetan Arena where players can earn THG and NFT.
- Tournament: Once Tournament is launched, players will be able to participate in competitions and earn THG.
- Marketplace: Trading on Thetan Arena Marketplace also allows users to earn THG.
Once they have acquired THG rewards, players can use them to evolve their Thetan Heroes.
This way of playing Thetan Arena also allows holders to create and vote on on-chain governance proposals about future features and parameters of Thetan Arena.
Despite their initial success, both THC and THG have diminished in value over time, stagnating at around $0.002497 for THC, and $0.05186 for THG at the time of writing.
But as gaming tokens, both have the potential to be appreciated, as more and more players join the Thetan Arena community.
